The RFID Educational Foundation Mission


The RFID Educational Foundation is charitable, non-profit, education services organization, founded in 2007. Its mission is to:

  • Educate and inform the general public, consumers, and others about RFID technology.

  • Promote public awareness about RFID technology capabilities and limitations.

  • Accept and distribute grants for educational (training) and scientific (research) purposes.

The Foundation’s efforts are specifically targeted to:

  • Promote RFID technology and the global RFID industry as an important part of the world economy.

  • Develop awareness programs for the public, and local and national government organizations.

  • Define workforce development programs to make the RFID discipline a career destination that will help
    stimulate the world economy.

Through its broad diversity of offerings the Foundation seeks to aid in many ways governments and their associated agencies, the RFID and other industries, academia and the general public.

To achieve its mission the Foundation endeavors to secure grants and funding from government organizations, industry, as well as individuals for use in these specific activities:

  • Acquire and certify educational programs that are fair, objective and represent the best interests of the RFID industry and the global community it serves.

  • Deliver RFID classes, seminars, conferences, webinars and other educational vehicles that promote effective understanding and use of this technology.

  • Conduct RFID research in support of a vital, evolving new industry.

  • Administer surveys and publish findings that provide insight, guidance and momentum for RFID maturation and adoption.

  • Define RFID workforce development needs and guidelines that facilitate the creation on a skilled, proficient, global labor pool.  

  • Publish books, articles, guides & white papers to foster RFID technology fluency and proliferation for global benefit.
