Harry P. Pappas, is the Co-Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of The RFID Educational Foundation. He is an internationally recognized RFID industry spokesperson and is also the Founder of the International RFID Business Association (RFIDba, 2004) an internationally recognized, educational, vendor neutral, trade association serving end users from around the globe. www.rfidba.org.
For the past several years, Mr. Pappas has traveled internationally, speaking about RFID with end users, academic institutions, industry organizations, government agencies, etc., and he realized the importance for a global, RFID Foundation with a mission to educate the general public, consumers, and others about radio frequency identification technology and to help establish global guidelines for RFID educational programs which are not in place today. Thus was born in early 2007, “The RFID Educational Foundation”, a charitable, non-profit, education services organization to promote RFID capabilities and limitations, and to accept and distribute grants for educational and scientific purposes.
Mr. Pappas has been involved in the RFID industry since 1999, with “hands-on” work in a wide variety of RFID projects across several industries including manufacturing, warehousing, electronic toll collection systems, food, pharmaceutical, healthcare, legal and transportation. Mr. Pappas is one of the founders of the RFID Technology Council (www.rfidtechcouncil.org) based in Washington, DC and a lead organizer for the formation of the US Senate RFID Caucus also in Washington.
